महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-43, verse-20

ततोऽर्जुनो हृष्टमना गङ्गायामाप्लुतः शुचिः ।
जजाप जप्यं कौन्तेयो विधिवत्कुरुनन्दनः ॥२०॥
20. tato'rjuno hṛṣṭamanā gaṅgāyāmāplutaḥ śuciḥ ,
jajāpa japyaṁ kaunteyo vidhivatkurunandanaḥ.
20. tataḥ arjunaḥ hṛṣṭamanā gaṅgāyām āplutaḥ śuciḥ
| jajāpa japyam kaunteyaḥ vidhivat kurunandanaḥ
20. Then Arjuna, with a joyful mind, bathed in the Gaṅgā and became pure. The son of Kuntī, the delight of the Kurus, then recited the sacred verses (japya) in accordance with the prescribed rules.
