महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-19, verse-8

सोऽपयामि शनैर्वीर बलवानेष पापकृत् ।
मोहितश्च रणे शूरो रक्ष्यः सारथिना रथी ॥८॥
8. so'payāmi śanairvīra balavāneṣa pāpakṛt ,
mohitaśca raṇe śūro rakṣyaḥ sārathinā rathī.
8. saḥ apayāmi śanaiḥ vīra balavān eṣaḥ pāpakṛt |
mohitaḥ ca raṇe śūraḥ rakṣyaḥ sārathinā rathī
8. Therefore, O hero, I will retreat slowly. This evildoer (Śālva) is powerful. Furthermore, a hero (the warrior) who is bewildered in battle must be protected by his charioteer.
