महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-134, verse-38

अष्टावक्रः पितरं पूजयित्वा संपूजितो ब्राह्मणैस्तैर्यथावत् ।
प्रत्याजगामाश्रममेव चाग्र्यं जित्वा बन्दिं सहितो मातुलेन ॥३८॥
38. aṣṭāvakraḥ pitaraṁ pūjayitvā; saṁpūjito brāhmaṇaistairyathāvat ,
pratyājagāmāśramameva cāgryaṁ; jitvā bandiṁ sahito mātulena.

sampūjitaḥ brāhmaṇaiḥ taiḥ yathāvat
pratyājagāma āśramam eva ca agryam
jitvā bandim sahitaḥ mātulena
38. Aṣṭāvakra, after worshipping his father, and having been duly honored by those Brahmins, returned to his excellent hermitage, accompanied by his maternal uncle, after defeating Bandi.
