महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-134, verse-27

अग्निर्दहञ्जातवेदाः सतां गृहान्विसर्जयंस्तेजसा न स्म धाक्षीत् ।
बालेषु पुत्रेषु कृपणं वदत्सु तथा वाचमवचिन्वन्ति सन्तः ॥२७॥
27. agnirdahañjātavedāḥ satāṁ gṛhā;nvisarjayaṁstejasā na sma dhākṣīt ,
bāleṣu putreṣu kṛpaṇaṁ vadatsu; tathā vācamavacinvanti santaḥ.
27. Agniḥ dahan jātavedāḥ satām gṛhān
visarjayan tejasā na sma dhākṣīt
bāleṣu putreṣu kṛpaṇam vadatsu
tathā vācam avacinuvanti santaḥ
27. Agni (jātavedāḥ), the all-knowing fire, though burning and emitting his radiant heat, would not burn the homes of virtuous people, especially when their young sons cry out piteously. Similarly, virtuous people carefully select words.
