महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-86, verse-33

एवं रामाय कौरव्य वसिष्ठोऽकथयत्पुरा ।
तस्मात्सुवर्णदानाय प्रयतस्व नराधिप ॥३३॥
33. evaṁ rāmāya kauravya vasiṣṭho'kathayatpurā ,
tasmātsuvarṇadānāya prayatasva narādhipa.

33. O scion of Kuru, Vasiṣṭha narrated this to Rāma long ago. Therefore, O king, endeavor to give gold (dāna).
