महाभारतः mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-67, verse-34

सत्कृतं स्वजनेनेह परोऽपि बहु मन्यते ।
स्वजनेन त्ववज्ञातं परे परिभवन्त्युत ॥३४॥

34. satkṛtaṁ svajaneneha paro'pi bahu manyate ,
svajanena tvavajñātaṁ pare paribhavantyuta.

34. If someone is honored by their own kinsfolk, even an outsider will greatly respect them. Conversely, if one is disregarded by their own people, others will certainly humiliate them.
