महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-285, verse-18

कर्मतोऽन्यानि गोत्राणि समुत्पन्नानि पार्थिव ।
नामधेयानि तपसा तानि च ग्रहणं सताम् ॥१८॥
18. karmato'nyāni gotrāṇi samutpannāni pārthiva ,
nāmadheyāni tapasā tāni ca grahaṇaṁ satām.

nāmadheyāni tapasā tāni ca grahaṇam satām
