महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-16, verse-1

सूत उवाच ।
ततोऽभ्रशिखराकारैर्गिरिशृङ्गैरलंकृतम् ।
मन्दरं पर्वतवरं लताजालसमावृतम् ॥१॥
1. sūta uvāca ,
tato'bhraśikharākārairgiriśṛṅgairalaṁkṛtam ,
mandaraṁ parvatavaraṁ latājālasamāvṛtam.
1. sūtaḥ uvāca tataḥ abhraśikharākāraiḥ giriśṛṅgaiḥ
alaṃkṛtam mandaram parvatavaram latājālasamāvṛtam
1. Sūta said: "Thereafter, the excellent mountain Mandara, adorned with mountain peaks resembling cloud summits and enveloped by a network of creepers..."
