The world (jagat) is an emanation from the knower of the self (ātman) whose ego (ahantā) and similar constructs have been fully consumed (khāditā). It is just like the spreading of liquid water (ambhaḥ-drava-prasaraṇam) which manifests as whirlpools and other formations.
