योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-7, chapter-118, verse-23

चर तृणानि पिबाम्बु वनावनौ कलय विश्रमणं कदलीवने ।
चकितचातक पावकदूषिता न हि सुखाय भवत्यतिमानिता ॥ २३ ॥
cara tṛṇāni pibāmbu vanāvanau kalaya viśramaṇaṃ kadalīvane ,
cakitacātaka pāvakadūṣitā na hi sukhāya bhavatyatimānitā 23
23. cara tṛṇāni piba ambu vana-avanau
kalaya viśramaṇam kadalī-vane
cakita-cātaka pāvaka-dūṣitā
na hi sukhāya bhavati atimānitā
23. cakita-cātaka! tṛṇāni cara,
vana-avanau ambu piba,
kadalī-vane viśramaṇam kalaya.
hi pāvaka-dūṣitā atimānitā sukhāya na bhavati.
23. O frightened cātaka bird! Graze on the grasses, drink water in the forest, and find rest in the banana grove. For indeed, excessive pride (atimānitā), scorched by the fire (of its own consequences), does not lead to happiness.
