योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-7, chapter-118, verse-20

सज्जनाशयनीकाशं त्यक्त्वा बर्ही महत्सरः ।
पिबत्यम्ब्वभ्रनिष्ठ्यूतं मन्ये तन्नतिभीतितः ॥ २० ॥
sajjanāśayanīkāśaṃ tyaktvā barhī mahatsaraḥ ,
pibatyambvabhraniṣṭhyūtaṃ manye tannatibhītitaḥ 20
20. sajjana-āśaya-nīkāśam tyaktvā barhī mahat-saraḥ
pibati ambu abhra-niṣṭhyūtam manye tat nati-bhītitaḥ
20. barhī sajjana-āśaya-nīkāśam mahat-saraḥ tyaktvā,
abhra-niṣṭhyūtam ambu pibati.
tat nati-bhītitaḥ manye.
20. Having abandoned a great lake, which resembles the pure heart of virtuous individuals, the peacock drinks water showered by the clouds. I believe it does this out of fear of its own lowliness.
