योगवासिष्ठः yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-7, chapter-118, verse-17

मेघाननुसरन्त्येते मयूरास्तनपा इव ।
मलिनो मलिनस्यैव पुत्र इत्यनुमीयते ॥ १७ ॥

17. meghān anusaranti ete mayūrāḥ stanapāḥ iva
malinaḥ malinasya eva putraḥ iti anumīyate

17. These peacocks follow the clouds as if they were suckling infants. Therefore, it is inferred that the dark one (the peacock) is indeed the son of the dark one (the cloud).
