योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-1, chapter-23, verse-17

एकेनैव निमेषेण किंचिदुत्थापयत्यलम् ।
किंचिद्विनाशयत्युच्चैर्मनोराज्यवदाततः ॥ १७ ॥
ekenaiva nimeṣeṇa kiṃcidutthāpayatyalam ,
kiṃcidvināśayatyuccairmanorājyavadātataḥ 17
17. ekena eva nimeṣeṇa kiñcit utthāpayati alam
kiñcit vināśayati uccaiḥ manorājyavat ataḥ
17. ekena nimeṣeṇa eva kiñcit alam utthāpayati
kiñcit uccaiḥ vināśayati manorājyavat ataḥ
17. In a mere moment, it (the mind, the supreme deceiver) can powerfully bring something into existence, and just as powerfully destroy something else, all like a kingdom of the mind (manorājya). This is its characteristic.
