वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-2, chapter-41, verse-18

यथैते नियमं पौराः कुर्वन्त्यस्मन्निवर्तने ।
अपि प्राणानसिष्यन्ति न तु त्यक्ष्यन्ति निश्चयम् ॥१८॥
18. yathaite niyamaṃ paurāḥ kurvantyasmannivartane ,
api prāṇānasiṣyanti na tu tyakṣyanti niścayam.
18. yathā ete niyamam paurāḥ kurvanti asmad nivartane
api prāṇān asiṣyanti na tu tyakṣyanti niścayam
18. yathā ete paurāḥ asmad nivartane niyamam kurvanti,
api prāṇān asiṣyanti,
tu niścayam na tyakṣyanti
18. Just as these citizens (paurāḥ) are determined concerning our return, they will even give up their lives, but they will certainly not abandon their resolve.
