वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-2, chapter-1, verse-16

कथं चिदुपकारेण कृतेनैकेन तुष्यति ।
न स्मरत्यपकाराणां शतमप्यात्मवत्तया ॥१६॥
16. kathaṃ cidupakāreṇa kṛtenaikena tuṣyati ,
na smaratyapakārāṇāṃ śatamapyātmavattayā.

16. One who possesses a noble spirit (ātmavattayā) is satisfied by even a single act of kindness done for them. Such a person does not remember even a hundred offenses.
