मार्कण्डेय उवाच ।
इत्युक्तः सोऽभवन्मौनी राजपुत्रः स चापि तत् ।
तत्पित्रे सर्वमाचष्ट राजपुत्रस्य यन्मतम् ॥१६॥

16. mārkaṇḍeya uvāca .
ityuktaḥ so'bhavanmaunī rājaputraḥ sa cāpi tat .
tatpitre sarvamācaṣṭa rājaputrasya yanmatam.

16.
Mārkaṇḍeya said: "Thus addressed, that prince became silent. And he (the merchant) told everything to the prince's father, whatever the prince's opinion (mata) was."
