मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-110, verse-10

आप्याय्यते यच्छरीरमाहारादिभिरीप्सितैः ।
कालं ज्ञात्वा तथा भुक्तं तदेव परिशिष्यते ॥१०॥
10. āpyāyyate yaccharīramāhārādibhirīpsitaiḥ .
kālaṃ jñātvā tathā bhuktaṃ tadeva pariśiṣyate.
10. āpyāyyate yat śarīram āhārādibhiḥ īpsitaiḥ
kālam jñātvā tathā bhuktam tat eva pariśiṣyate
10. The body is nourished by desirable foods and other things. Similarly, if food is consumed after discerning the appropriate time, only that (properly timed intake) truly remains and sustains.
