महाभारतः mahābhārataḥ - book-5, chapter-133, verse-37

शत्रुं कृत्वा यः सहायं विश्वासमुपगच्छति ।
अतः संभाव्यमेवैतद्यद्राज्यं प्राप्नुयादिति ॥३७॥

37. śatruṁ kṛtvā yaḥ sahāyaṁ viśvāsamupagacchati ,
ataḥ saṁbhāvyamevaitadyadrājyaṁ prāpnuyāditi.

37. One who makes an enemy his ally and then places his trust in him; therefore, it is indeed to be expected that he may acquire a kingdom.
