महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-2, chapter-41, verse-9

वङ्गाङ्गविषयाध्यक्षं सहस्राक्षसमं बले ।
स्तुहि कर्णमिमं भीष्म महाचापविकर्षणम् ॥९॥
9. vaṅgāṅgaviṣayādhyakṣaṁ sahasrākṣasamaṁ bale ,
stuhi karṇamimaṁ bhīṣma mahācāpavikarṣaṇam.

9. O Bhishma, praise this Karna, the lord of the Vanga and Anga regions, who is equal to Indra (Sahasrākṣa) in strength, and who wields the mighty bow.
