महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-2, chapter-41, verse-25

इच्छतां किल नामाहं जीवाम्येषां महीक्षिताम् ।
योऽहं न गणयाम्येतांस्तृणानीव नराधिपान् ॥२५॥
25. icchatāṁ kila nāmāhaṁ jīvāmyeṣāṁ mahīkṣitām ,
yo'haṁ na gaṇayāmyetāṁstṛṇānīva narādhipān.
25. icchhatām kila nāma aham jīvāmi eṣām mahīkṣitām
yaḥ aham na gaṇayāmi etān tṛṇāni iva narādhipān
25. It is said that I live merely to fulfill the desires of these very kings. But I, for my part, do not value these rulers of men any more than blades of grass.
