महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-2, chapter-20, verse-26

क्षत्रियस्यैतदेवाहुर्धर्म्यं कृष्णोपजीवनम् ।
विक्रम्य वशमानीय कामतो यत्समाचरेत् ॥२६॥
26. kṣatriyasyaitadevāhurdharmyaṁ kṛṣṇopajīvanam ,
vikramya vaśamānīya kāmato yatsamācaret.
26. kṣatriyasya etat eva āhuḥ dharmyam kṛṣṇopajīvanam
vikramya vaśam ānīya kāmataḥ yat samācaret
26. They say that for a kṣatriya, this alone is the righteous (dharmya) way of life for a warrior: to act as one desires after displaying valor and bringing others under control.
