ततः किरीटी संचिन्त्य तेषां राज्ञां चिकीर्षितम् ।
वारयामास तान्वीरान्सान्त्वपूर्वमरिंदमः ॥४॥

4. tataḥ kirīṭī saṁcintya teṣāṁ rājñāṁ cikīrṣitam ,
vārayāmāsa tānvīrānsāntvapūrvamariṁdamaḥ.

4. Then Kirīṭin (Arjuna), the subduer of enemies, having understood the intention of those kings, first tried to restrain those warriors with gentle, conciliatory words.
