महाभारतः mahābhārataḥ - book-14, chapter-18, verse-10

यथा च दीपः शरणं दीप्यमानः प्रकाशयेत् ।

10. Just as a lamp, shining, illuminates a dwelling, so too does consciousness (cetanā) illuminate the various bodies.
