महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-76, verse-6

जरोग्रामुपयुक्तार्थां जीर्णां कूपमिवाजलम् ।
दत्त्वा तमः प्रविशति द्विजं क्लेशेन योजयेत् ॥६॥
6. jarogrāmupayuktārthāṁ jīrṇāṁ kūpamivājalam ,
dattvā tamaḥ praviśati dvijaṁ kleśena yojayet.

6. One who gives away a cow that is aged, whose utility is exhausted, worn out, and like a waterless well, enters darkness. Such an act merely causes trouble for the twice-born (dvija).
