महाभारतः mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-76, verse-12

यथा ह्यमृतमाश्रित्य वर्तयन्ति दिवौकसः ।
तथा वृत्तिं समाश्रित्य वर्तयन्ति प्रजा विभो ॥१२॥

12. Just as the dwellers of heaven (divaukasaḥ) sustain themselves by relying on nectar (amṛta), so too, O lord, do beings (prajā) sustain themselves by relying on their means of livelihood (vṛtti).
