महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-76, verse-22

यास्तु तस्मादपक्रम्य सोममेवाभिसंश्रिताः ।
यथोत्पन्नाः स्ववर्णस्थास्ता नीता नान्यवर्णताम् ॥२२॥
22. yāstu tasmādapakramya somamevābhisaṁśritāḥ ,
yathotpannāḥ svavarṇasthāstā nītā nānyavarṇatām.
22. yāḥ tu tasmāt apakramya somam eva abhisaṃśritāḥ yathā
utpannāḥ svavarṇasthāḥ tāḥ nītāḥ na anyavarṇatām
22. tu yāḥ tasmāt apakramya somam eva abhisaṃśritāḥ yathā
utpannāḥ svavarṇasthāḥ tāḥ na anyavarṇatām nītāḥ
22. However, those cows which, having moved away from that (fierce energy), took refuge only in Soma, remained in their original color as they were born, and were not transformed to any other hue.
