महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-42, verse-30

तस्य चिन्तयतस्तात बह्व्यो दिननिशा ययुः ।
इदमासीन्मनसि च रुच्या रक्षणकारितम् ॥३०॥
30. tasya cintayatastāta bahvyo dinaniśā yayuḥ ,
idamāsīnmanasi ca rucyā rakṣaṇakāritam.

idam āsīt manasi ca rucyā rakṣaṇa-kāritam

30. As he continued to ponder, O father, many days and nights passed. And this thought was in his mind: 'It was done out of a desire for protection.'
