महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-202, verse-4

भीष्म उवाच ।
पुराहं मृगयां यातो मार्कण्डेयाश्रमे स्थितः ।
तत्रापश्यं मुनिगणान्समासीनान्सहस्रशः ॥४॥
4. bhīṣma uvāca ,
purāhaṁ mṛgayāṁ yāto mārkaṇḍeyāśrame sthitaḥ ,
tatrāpaśyaṁ munigaṇānsamāsīnānsahasraśaḥ.

sthitaḥ tatra apaśyam munigaṇān samāsīnān sahasraśaḥ

4. Bhishma said: Once, I had gone hunting and was staying at the hermitage (āśrama) of Markandeya. There, I saw thousands of groups of sages who were seated together.
