Know this (tat): an ochre robe (kāṣāyam) worn by one who is not purified of inner defilement (aniṣkaṣāye) is merely for gain (īhārtham). My opinion (matiḥ) is that for those shaven-headed (muṇḍānām) individuals who are merely outward signs of (dharma), it is for the sake of livelihood (vṛttyartham).
