महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-10, chapter-6, verse-21

गोब्राह्मणनृपस्त्रीषु सख्युर्मातुर्गुरोस्तथा ।
वृद्धबालजडान्धेषु सुप्तभीतोत्थितेषु च ॥२१॥
21. gobrāhmaṇanṛpastrīṣu sakhyurmāturgurostathā ,
vṛddhabālajaḍāndheṣu suptabhītotthiteṣu ca.
21. go-brāhmaṇa-nṛpa-strīṣu sakhyuḥ mātuḥ guroḥ tathā
vṛddha-bāla-jaḍa-andheṣu supta-bhīta-utthiteṣu ca
21. go-brāhmaṇa-nṛpa-strīṣu sakhyuḥ mātuḥ guroḥ tathā
vṛddha-bāla-jaḍa-andheṣu supta-bhīta-utthiteṣu ca
21. (One should not wield weapons) against cows, Brahmins, kings, or women; against a friend, a mother, or a preceptor (guru); similarly, against the old, children, the foolish, or the blind; and against those who are asleep, frightened, or have just awakened.
