महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-206, verse-21

अर्जुन उवाच ।
ब्रह्मचर्यमिदं भद्रे मम द्वादशवार्षिकम् ।
धर्मराजेन चादिष्टं नाहमस्मि स्वयंवशः ॥२१॥
21. arjuna uvāca ,
brahmacaryamidaṁ bhadre mama dvādaśavārṣikam ,
dharmarājena cādiṣṭaṁ nāhamasmi svayaṁvaśaḥ.
21. arjuna uvāca | brahmacaryam idam bhadre mama dvādaśavārṣikam
| dharmarājena ca ādiṣṭam na aham asmi svayaṃvaśaḥ
21. Arjuna said, "O fair one, this vow of celibacy (brahmacarya) for twelve years was enjoined upon me by the King of Dharma (dharma). I am not my own master."
