महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-146, verse-26

इष्टानि चाप्यपत्यानि द्रव्याणि सुहृदः प्रियाः ।
आपद्धर्मविमोक्षाय भार्या चापि सतां मतम् ॥२६॥
26. iṣṭāni cāpyapatyāni dravyāṇi suhṛdaḥ priyāḥ ,
āpaddharmavimokṣāya bhāryā cāpi satāṁ matam.
26. iṣṭāni ca api apatyāni dravyāṇi suhṛdaḥ priyāḥ
āpaddharmavimokṣāya bhāryā ca api satām matam
26. Desired children, wealth, and dear friends are important; but a wife is considered by the virtuous to be [especially important] for deliverance from a dire situation (āpaddharma).
