महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-146, verse-17

तां चेदहं न दित्सेयं त्वद्गुणैरुपबृंहिताम् ।
प्रमथ्यैनां हरेयुस्ते हविर्ध्वाङ्क्षा इवाध्वरात् ॥१७॥
17. tāṁ cedahaṁ na ditseyaṁ tvadguṇairupabṛṁhitām ,
pramathyaināṁ hareyuste havirdhvāṅkṣā ivādhvarāt.
17. tām cet aham na ditseyam tvadguṇaiḥ upabṛṃhitām
pramathya enām hareyuḥ te havirdhvāṅkṣāḥ iva adhvarāt
17. If I do not give her, endowed with your excellent qualities, they would forcefully seize her, just as crows snatch the offering from a sacred fire (yajña).
