अथास्मिन्सति कल्पाग्नौ स्थितिमेति कथं घनः ।
इति विस्मितवानस्मि दृशं दिग्नवकेऽत्यजम् ॥ १२ ॥

athāsminsati kalpāgnau sthitimeti kathaṃ ghanaḥ ,

atha asmin sati kalpāgnau sthitim eti katham
ghanaḥ iti vismitavān asmi dṛśam dignavake atyajam

atha asmin kalpāgnau sati,
ghanaḥ katham sthitim eti iti asmi vismitavān,

Then, as this cosmic fire (kalpāgni) blazed, I wondered, 'How can a dense object (ghana) continue to exist?' Thus astonished, I cast my gaze (dṛś) across the nine directions.
