योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-7, chapter-3, verse-9

चिद्रूपो बिल्वमज्जान्तश्चित्तसंज्ञां यदात्मनि ।
करोति तद्यथा बिल्वान्न स्वल्पमपि भिद्यते ॥ ९ ॥
cidrūpo bilvamajjāntaścittasaṃjñāṃ yadātmani ,
karoti tadyathā bilvānna svalpamapi bhidyate 9
9. cit-rūpaḥ bilvamajjāntaḥ cittasaṃjñām yat ātmani
karoti tat yathā bilvāt na svalpam api bhidyate
9. yat bilvamajjāntaḥ cit-rūpaḥ ātmani cittasaṃjñām karoti,
tat yathā bilvāt svalpam api na bhidyate
9. When pure consciousness (cid-rūpa), which is like the inner pulp of a bilva fruit, creates the designation of "mind" within itself (ātman), then that (mind) is not even slightly distinct from the bilva fruit itself.
