श्रीवसिष्ठ उवाच ।
नासतो विद्यते भावो नाभावो विद्यते सतः ।
यदा तदैव सुकरं वेदनावेदनं स्वयम् ॥ २ ॥

Śrī Vasiṣṭha said: That which is non-existent has no being, and that which is existent has no non-being. When this is understood, then knowing and not-knowing become effortless by themselves.
