योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-7, chapter-22, verse-49

संविन्मात्रं हि पुरुषः सर्वगोऽपि स तिष्ठति ।
स्फुटसारे शरीरस्य यथा गन्धोऽब्जकेसरे ॥ ४९ ॥
saṃvinmātraṃ hi puruṣaḥ sarvago'pi sa tiṣṭhati ,
sphuṭasāre śarīrasya yathā gandho'bjakesare 49
49. saṃvinmātram hi puruṣaḥ sarvagaḥ api saḥ tiṣṭhati
sphuṭasāre śarīrasya yathā gandhaḥ abjakesare
49. hi puruṣaḥ saṃvinmātram saḥ sarvagaḥ api śarīrasya
sphuṭasāre tiṣṭhati yathā abjakesare gandhaḥ
49. Indeed, the supreme cosmic person (puruṣa) is merely pure consciousness; even though he is all-pervading, he remains in the manifest essence of the body, just as fragrance exists in the stamen of a lotus.
