योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-7, chapter-22, verse-11

परमात्मायते जीवो बुध्यमानस्त्वचेतनम् ।
चेतनं बुध्यमानस्तु जीव एवावतिष्ठते ॥ ११ ॥
paramātmāyate jīvo budhyamānastvacetanam ,
cetanaṃ budhyamānastu jīva evāvatiṣṭhate 11

11. The individual soul (jīva) becomes like the Supreme Self (paramātman) when it perceives the insentient; but when it perceives the sentient, it remains simply an individual soul (jīva).
