योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-7, chapter-149, verse-40

कल्प्यते कारणं यत्र तत्र कारणसारता ।
न कल्प्यते विदा यत्र कारणं तदकारणम् ॥ ४० ॥
kalpyate kāraṇaṃ yatra tatra kāraṇasāratā ,
na kalpyate vidā yatra kāraṇaṃ tadakāraṇam 40
40. kalpyate kāraṇam yatra tatra kāraṇasāratā
na kalpyate vidā yatra kāraṇam tat akāraṇam

40. Where a cause is posited, there exists the essence of causality. But where a cause is not posited by true knowledge (vidā), that (entity) is without cause.
