योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-6, chapter-124, verse-4

कार्यकारणभावोऽयमीदृशो जन्मकर्मणोः ।
अकारणमुपायान्ति सर्वे जीवा परात्पदात् ॥ ४ ॥
kāryakāraṇabhāvo'yamīdṛśo janmakarmaṇoḥ ,
akāraṇamupāyānti sarve jīvā parātpadāt 4
4. kāryakāraṇabhāvaḥ ayam īdṛśaḥ janmakarmaṇoḥ
akāraṇam upāyānti sarve jīvāḥ parāt padāt

4. Such is this cause-and-effect relationship between birth and action (karma). All living beings approach without [external] cause, from the supreme abode.
