श्रीराम उवाच ।
अहं जगदिति भ्रान्तिः परस्मात्कारणं विना ।
यथोदेति तथा ब्रह्मन्भूयः कथय साधु मे ॥ १ ॥

ahaṃ jagaditi bhrāntiḥ parasmātkāraṇaṃ vinā ,
yathodeti tathā brahmanbhūyaḥ kathaya sādhu me 1

1. Śrī Rāma said: "O Brahmin, please explain to me clearly again how this illusion (bhrānti) that 'I am the world' arises from the Supreme without any apparent cause."
