श्रीदेव्युवाच ।
कृत्रिमोऽकृत्रिमात्सर्गान्न कदाचन जायते ।
नहि कारणतः कार्यमुदेत्यसदृशं क्वचित् ॥ १८ ॥
कृत्रिमोऽकृत्रिमात्सर्गान्न कदाचन जायते ।
नहि कारणतः कार्यमुदेत्यसदृशं क्वचित् ॥ १८ ॥

kṛtrimo'kṛtrimātsargānna kadācana jāyate ,
nahi kāraṇataḥ kāryamudetyasadṛśaṃ kvacit 18

The Goddess said: An artificial creation never arises from a natural creation, because indeed, an effect dissimilar to its cause never arises anywhere.
