योगवासिष्ठः yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-2, chapter-17, verse-9

यथा रज्ज्वामहिभ्रान्तिर्विनश्यत्यवलोकनात् ।
तथैतत्प्रेक्षणाच्छान्तिमेति संसारदुःखिता ॥ ९ ॥

tathaitatprekṣaṇācchāntimeti saṃsāraduḥkhitā 9

9. yathā rajjvām ahi bhrāntiḥ vinaśyati avalokanāt |
tathā etat prekṣaṇāt śāntim eti saṃsāraduḥkhitā ||

9. yathā rajjvām ahi bhrāntiḥ avalokanāt vinaśyati,
tathā etat prekṣaṇāt saṃsāraduḥkhitā śāntim eti.

9. Just as the delusion of a snake in a rope is dispelled by its observation, similarly, a person afflicted by the suffering of transmigration (saṃsāra) attains peace (śānti) by observing this [text].
