वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-6, chapter-89, verse-7

न हि युद्धेन मे कार्यं नैव प्राणैर्न सीतया ।
भ्रातरं निहतं दृष्ट्वा लक्ष्मणं रणपांसुषु ॥७॥
7. na hi yuddhena me kāryaṃ naiva prāṇairna sītayā ,
bhrātaraṃ nihataṃ dṛṣṭvā lakṣmaṇaṃ raṇapāṃsuṣu.
7. na hi yuddhena me kāryam na eva prāṇaiḥ na sītayā
bhrātaram nihatam dṛṣṭvā lakṣmaṇam raṇapāṃsuṣu
7. lakṣmaṇam bhrātaram raṇapāṃsuṣu nihatam dṛṣṭvā,
hi me yuddhena na kāryam,
na eva prāṇaiḥ,

7. Indeed, I have no concern with war, nor with my life-breaths, nor even with Sītā, having seen my brother Lakṣmaṇa lying slain in the dust of battle.
