वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-6, chapter-89, verse-5

लज्जतीव हि मे वीर्यं भ्रश्यतीव कराद्धनुः ।
सायका व्यवसीदन्ति दृष्टिर्बाष्पवशं गता ।
चिन्ता मे वर्धते तीव्रा मुमूर्षा चोपजायते ॥५॥
5. lajjatīva hi me vīryaṃ bhraśyatīva karāddhanuḥ ,
sāyakā vyavasīdanti dṛṣṭirbāṣpavaśaṃ gatā ,
cintā me vardhate tīvrā mumūrṣā copajāyate.
5. lajjati iva hi me vīryam bhraśyati
iva karāt dhanuḥ sāyakāḥ vyavasīdanti
dṛṣṭiḥ bāṣpavaśam gatā cintā me

5. hi me vīryam lajjati iva,

5. Indeed, my valor seems to be ashamed, and my bow appears to slip from my hand. My arrows are failing, and my vision is clouded by tears. An intense anxiety (cintā) grows within me, and a desire to die (mumūrṣā) arises.
