वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-5, chapter-62, verse-18

एवं वक्ष्यति को राजन्प्रभुः सन् वानरर्षभ ।
ऐश्वर्यमदमत्तो हि सर्वो ऽहमिति मन्यते ॥१८॥
18. evaṃ vakṣyati ko rājanprabhuḥ san vānararṣabha ,
aiśvaryamadamatto hi sarvo'hamiti manyate.
18. evam vaksyati kaḥ rājan prabhuḥ san vānara-ṛṣabha
| aiśvarya-mada-mattaḥ hi sarvaḥ aham iti manyate
18. rājan vānara-ṛṣabha prabhuḥ san kaḥ evam vaksyati

18. Who, O king, O best of monkeys, being a lord, will speak in this manner? Indeed, everyone intoxicated by the arrogance of power thinks, 'I am everything'.
