वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-1, chapter-9, verse-30

अर्घ्यं च प्रददौ तस्मै न्यायतः सुसमाहितः ।
वव्रे प्रसादं विप्रेन्द्रान्मा विप्रं मन्युराविशेत् ॥३०॥
30. arghyaṃ ca pradadau tasmai nyāyataḥ susamāhitaḥ ,
vavre prasādaṃ viprendrānmā vipraṃ manyurāviśet.

30. And, highly concentrated and justly, he offered the arghya (a respectful offering of water) to him. He then sought the favor of the chief of Brahmins, hoping that anger would not overcome the Brahmin.
