वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-1, chapter-9, verse-20

ततस्तास्तं समालिङ्ग्य सर्वा हर्षसमन्विताः ।
मोदकान्प्रददुस्तस्मै भक्ष्यांश्च विविधाञ् शुभान् ॥२०॥
20. tatastāstaṃ samāliṅgya sarvā harṣasamanvitāḥ ,
modakānpradadustasmai bhakṣyāṃśca vividhāñ śubhān.
20. tatas tāḥ tam samāliṅgya sarvāḥ harṣasamannvitāḥ
modakān pradaduḥ tasmai bhakṣyān ca vividhān śubhān
20. tatas sarvāḥ harṣasamannvitāḥ tāḥ tam samāliṅgya,

20. Then, all of them, filled with joy, embraced him and gave him sweetmeats and various auspicious food items.
