One should offer śrāddha on the thirteenth (lunar day) and in (the constellation) Maghā according to rules (yathāvidhi), (with) rice pudding (pāyasa) mixed with honey and ghee (madhusarpis), during the period of the sun's southern course (dakṣiṇāyana).
