मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-32, verse-19

वर्जनीयं सदा सदिभस्तत्पयः श्राद्धकर्मणि ।
वर्ज्या जन्तुमती रूक्षा क्षितिः प्लुष्टा तथाग्निना ॥१९॥
19. varjanīyaṃ sadā sadibhastatpayaḥ śrāddhakarmaṇi .
varjyā jantumatī rūkṣā kṣitiḥ pluṣṭā tathāgninā.
19. varjanīyam sadā sadbhiḥ tad payaḥ śrāddhakarmaṇi |
varjyā jantumati rūkṣā kṣitiḥ pluṣṭā tathā agninā
19. That milk should always be avoided by righteous people in a śrāddha (ancestral offering) rite. Also, earth that is full of insects, dry, or scorched by fire should be avoided.
